FLAG OFF CEREMONY OF THE 8.0km ROAD CONSTRUCTION - AKURE - ODA DUAL CARRIAGEWAY
I am most grateful to the Almighty God for the uncommon grace bestowed on us to be here to flag off this project which is a milestone, not only in the lives of these communities but also in the annals of the records of the purposeful achievements of our administration. This is in continuation of our commitment to the enhancement of road network across the State.
We are not unaware of the enormous discomfort being experienced by our people as they traverse through this road, especially the residents of Oda-town including the estates situated within this road corridor. Today, we give God the glory that the construction of this dual carriageway will not only make those nasty experiences a thing of the past but will also enhance the aesthetics and the physical infrastructure of Oda Road and indeed Akure-city.
This 8.0km road, when completed, would consist of 2.7km dual carriageway and 5.3km single carriageway and would have standard facilities such as 1.5m walkway on both sides, 1m width median fitted with street light, 600mm x 750mm drains, 200mm lateritic sub-base course, 200mm stone base course, 50mm asphaltic binder course, 40mm asphaltic wearing course, among others.
In line with the commitment of our government, several roads are under construction, while some have been completed by our administration in our efforts to improve the living condition of our people. I wish to assure you all that we shall not rest on our laurels until we have all our communities transformed.
